According to new allegations from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was given specific instructions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The statement indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Reported

Other privileges reportedly provided to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most detainees are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the president to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche attend a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether he had discussed a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
