19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally separating with former trainer Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court since spring of 2023.

Success also indicates he has achieved 21 championships at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His retrieving play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

He came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional title, took control to push for a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
